ABOUT SAWC
SAWC brings together Wellness entrepreneurs, businesses, social groups, and programs for the purpose of creating a Wellness Business Ecosystem.
I had a vision when I launched on June 1st 2026, not knowing how it would possibly evolve as I went out to meet Wellness professionals around San Antonio. I spent the first 3 months hosting a once-a-week meetup at LaunchSA, an entrepreneurial hub in Central SATX, and on the other days of the week I would drive around to visit local Wellness spaces. I wanted to get to know each business owner 1:1 to understand their unique needs, wants, and what they wish they had while growing their businesses in the last few years. I had some great ideas in mind for events, meetups, and resources I wish I had as an Entrepreneur for 13+ years, but wanted to analyze what everyone else had to say.
I am now in Q2 of building out this Community and am blown away by the amount of progress that has been made. As a founder, I had so many unknowns ahead of me and just wanted to start off by building relationships. We now have almost 200 newsletter subscribers, 50+ Wellness Partners (established location-based wellness businesses), 800+ Instagram followers, and 1400+ TikTok followers (all locals).
I have mapped out my first year of SAWC, with 8 initiatives, 4 different groups of audience to add to the Collective, and am building out an APP. I also started a passion project I love dearly - a quarterly magazine that will start digital but perhaps turn into print down the road. I gained so much support, love, momentum, and many new friends from this experience that made it all worth the leap.
I also educated myself a lot in the last 4 months to better understand what it is I want to even build. It takes a lot of research, trial and error, as well as being willing to either adapt or set a boundary when you learn new information. I did not want SAWC to become a non-profit organization.
I wanted to create a free-to-join community so it can be ACCESSIBLE and have a foundation of close relationships between individuals at different levels of their business growth. I did not want cost to be what limits someone from entering the opportunity to learn from someone in their niche who is already thriving locally with a location or established mobile practice.
I also had a VERY CLEAR vision of what I wanted to build based on what never worked or helped my own journey in the past, being a small business owner with a storefront that served other local business owners with marketing and print.
What I am building is a Social Enterprise. A for-profit business that aims to serve the community by doing projects and offering services that create Social Impact. It does not require a Board* as a non-profit does, and it is not a Chamber of Commerce. It is not a networking group only focused on having Wellness professionals meet frequently to Network. It is also not just a Social group that has the goal of having fun together through Wellness-focused events and meetups. It is not a coaching group that aims to coach or consult 1:1 with members, while also arranging networking. That is not to say any of those outlets for connection and growth are bad.
This is just intentionally different.
SAWC IS A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE THAT PROMOTES WELLNESS ACROSS SAN ANTONIO, TX
My goal is to build a thriving Wellness Business Ecosystem that sustains itself due to the creativity, innovation, and relationship-forward approach that built it.
I knew I wanted to serve the Wellness owners, make great impact in our city, and do what I love to do along the way. So I isolated the goals and purpose of SAWC, as well as the impact it can have in San Antonio, Texas.
Wellness Entrepreneurs and business owners of SATX have a passionate WHY story that got them into the Industry. They have a wellness lifestyle, so it is an everyday thing that surpasses having a 9-5 job or business. It stems from a whole philosophy of health, happiness, healing, and seeking a higher quality of life. There are so many different Wellness Businesses and WELLNESS is so BROAD. Finding Wellness events in SATX, you discover that there are several scheduled that overlap with each other, with professionals across different ends of the city who have no idea the others exist. They are trying to do more than just market services - they are trying to advocate, educate, and change lives.
These same professionals benefit from knowing each other, yet they have little to no time to really network because most of them have a day job or their business is their day job. So that means any time spent on events SHOULD be useful and intentional. Many find it to be slow, daunting, and ineffective.
I know from the last 2 years of experience as a local weekend vendor at different farmers' markets around SATX that selling at your table is no picnic either. Whether it be the low foot traffic, a non-curated and unplanned event theme, a lack of Wellness niche events to be a part of, or a coordinator being nowhere in sight to address the issues after taking the vendor fees so diligently. These things happen and can really hurt a small business or entrepreneur that is putting whatever money and time they have into events.
There are way more issues I noted and with that came all the ideas that I will be bringing to the collective in the next 3 Quarters. I believe these initiatives will make a big difference for SAWC members and help many businesses grow more effectively. There are also some amazing Wellness Businesses already focused on collaboration over competition, doing impactful community events, and hosting things like RUNNER CLUB marathons. We want to help our members find those opportunities more easily too, so we can all work better together.
When we support WELLNESS BUSINESS GROWTH, we empower an entire city to live healthier.
Health and Wellness are not just about eating organic or seeking spiritual healing. There are so many different Wellness services, products, clubs, programs, and events all around SATX that promote emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, and relational health. This includes, but is not limited to: farms, wellness centers, clinics, storefronts, cafes, spas, schools, gyms, birth and death services, mental health support spaces, sports, body movement, rehabilitation, and more.
I believe that helping every Wellness Entrepreneur grow a brand, product, or service - even a social group - will, in return, help this city become a better place to live in. I am raising my family here, as a homesteader AND city dweller. In San Antonio, within the Wellness niche, I am building a lifestyle I love in a city I want to call home for many years to come. I get to have both a rural and urban lifestyle here, unlike any other city I have ever lived in.
SAWC needs a few different forms of AID that will help grow the Ecosystem and make the Social Impact we envision it to.
Aligned Impact Partners wanting to fund + participate in building a better San Antonio.
Passionate Wellness Partners who are community-minded and open to being a source of: mentorship, field trip venue, collaborative event partners, and more.
Wellness members with a deep desire to connect, learn, & grow but are lacking the support and community to help them achieve those goals.
PR partners who want to share what SAWC is doing, to enhance the magazine I am creating, and bring in professional content creation that amplifies the work I am already doing as founder of the Collective.
I am developing the magazine, the app, and these initiatives as the leader of this Social Enterprise. However, I am very much a member of this community as a parent, wife, and wellness entrepreneur, just trying to bring wellness to this city in the best ways I know how.
If you feel moved by what SAWC is doing, please consider all the ways you can help us make an impact in San Antonio, TX.
Every like, share, comment, follow, newsletter subscriber, purchase, donation, and warm introduction help SAWC grow.
It's the members, Wellness Partners, and Impact Partners that make this Ecosystem thrive.
